Is there anyway to tell what the CFm rating is on my stock 2100-A on my 390 in my '68 F-250? Also is the Holley 500 CFM 2bbl worth the $275? I put the reman 2100-A on the truck a year or so ago and have never been that happy with its performance. It has a small dead spot off idle and i have tried everything to get rid of it but nothing seems to help. I'm wondering if its time to try a better carb. Any thoughts?

CFM rating and carb question.
Honestly, I really would rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy.

Re: CFM rating and carb question.
The code number stamped into the left front mounting flange will tell you what you really need. Like is it the original style?
A 360/390 in the later years all got the same carb. They had 350 cfm.
And no a Holley 500 cfm 2v is not worth it.
A 600 cfm 4v has smaller primaries which help mileage and the same size secondaries to help horsepower.

Re: CFM rating and carb question.
They do run great but they are overpriced for their size. For 275 you can get a 600 4V for less new. Big barrels like one half of a Dominator. But running great and economy do not go hand in hand.sideoilerfe wrote:I had one on my truck and it ran great.Dragon wrote:

Re: CFM rating and carb question.
Yeah I have been tossing around the idea of going to 4v but right now i dont know if I want to afford a new intake and a carb. I'm not really concerned with mileage, I have my 300 for that. I want a little better performance for not too much money. I can always go to 4v later and use the carb on another project or something. As long as no one has had any problems with the 500 CFM holley than I still may go that route. Any other suggestions?
Thanks again for the help,
