360 to 410 FE

Post by RedneckTexan »

Hey Y'all, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find any search results, I've been wondering, would my 360 block handle the bore and stroke of a 410? what is the bore and stroke of a 410? If it can be altered, where do I find parts? :? Thanks Y'all.

It is the same bore. Stroke it to 3.98 from 3.5. A 428 Crank, balancer and flywheel would be required along with 390 rods. The block of the 360 is almost exactly the same as a 410 if the 360 has the 352 on the front it is the same and if you have 105 backwards on the front it is a stronger block. More main bearing webbing.

OH COOL! :D That's awesome! I thought that if I wanted to build a hot engine I had to bore it to death! looks like I just might build one after all! :D thanks alot Y'all! :D

Oh, and one more question, ain't the 360 pistons taller than the 390/410 pistons? If so, when I replace the crank and rods I'll need some shorter pistons too :?

You use 390 TRUCK pistons with 390 / 428 rods and a 428 crank.
