They are a little cheesy to me. Get for what you pay for some times. I Love My Hooker Headers! Thats all I run anymore. JMHO

Re: Hedman 89120 headers
I have used Hookers on racers but I find them severely over priced for the street and without tuning on dyno tests that Hot Rod Magazines did years ago Hedman, Doug Thorley and Hooker numbers were so close as to be the same until you cut the collectors off and started tuning the tubes and collector lengths.FORD428CJ wrote:They are a little cheesy to me. Hedman is a great deal for the money. Cheap header companies come and go, Hedman and Hooker are still here 50+ years later.

I'm talking about the Comp Headers. You are talking about the Super Comp Headers. BIG difference here. Super Comps are Race Type apps where Comps are street friendly! A BIG difference in price tag too.Dragon wrote:I have used Hookers on racers but I find them severely over priced for the street and without tuning on dyno tests that Hot Rod Magazines did years ago Hedman, Doug Thorley and Hooker numbers were so close as to be the same until you cut the collectors off and started tuning the tubes and collector lengths.FORD428CJ wrote:They are a little cheesy to me. I had Headman, Dyno Max, Hookers. Hookers seam to fit better and have a good seal compared to the others. JMHO
Here are some Hooker Comp Headers that are less then $200.
I have ran these headers in my blue beast and was very happy with them:

Re: Hedman 89120 headers
I was going to buy the Hookers (tuned) for my 72 (only a few dollars more) until I read the foot note that the automatic trans shift linkage would hit one of the tubes. I really didn't want to take a hammer to a new set of headers so I bought the Hedmans.
The Hedmans on my 79 last around 60,000 miles. I am on my 4th set now.

That's good to hear; it would probably take me 15 years to put 60k miles on my truck!rubiranch wrote:I was going to buy the Hookers (tuned) for my 72 (only a few dollars more) until I read the foot note that the automatic trans shift linkage would hit one of the tubes. I've had my 72 for 4 years and have only put 10k on it, I'm hoping these Hedmans last at least 24 years.fomocoguy wrote:That's good to hear; it would probably take me 15 years to put 60k miles on my truck!
