Nice machine, not sure Monarch's the best. Lots of WWII iron out there that was built for several lifetimes of use. It's in no way necessary, but if I can ever build my dream shop I will make room for a 120"+ engine lathe. If nothing else it'll make the occasional driveline and turn a flywheel now and then.
I'll never forget the time I spent in Todd shipyard in Seattle. They have a lathe for repairing prop shafts that goes the length of a good size building. Must be 80 feet between centers with multiple cairrages.
