need help on headers
i need to order headers soon for the 71 f250 with 429/auto c6.
will these work? the thing that worries me is that it doesnt say what years (but maybe it doesnt say what years because the 460 stopped being created at the end of the dentside era right?)
and is that removable pipe for access for starter removal?
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku
or how about these. the only difference i see is that they are listed for f100 as well as f250 and f350. and doesnt have the removable pipe.
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku
thanks

re: need help on headers
I think they stop making the 460 in the early 90s. Correct me if I am wrong. I removable pipe is funny, that would be my guess.

To me it looks like the second set of hedders will work. But then again I never brought hedders before.

I just bought the second set. I have them out of the box and trial fitted them. They will work.
The first set you linked is for 83-87. Totally different animal.

Oh yeah, I don't know how much shipping is from Summit, but I got mine for $189 to my door.
I could put you in touch with the place I got mine from if you like.

ahh i didnt see that earlier.DuckRyder wrote:Click the tab that says "application"
but under "application", there are 4 sections. that confuses me. so if your truck fits any of those sections details then it will work? so confused
they all list for dentside too, i know 429/460's werent in f-series until dent era, so will it work?
please excuse my stupidity

re: need help on headers
yes if the application is listed then it will fit, you can filter it using the links at the top where it says for instance "2wd" or "4wd".
Now obviously, there won't be a listing for a bump with a 429/460 unless it is listed as a "swap" header, but I would go with the dentside ones myself...

Re: re: need help on headers
LAST year for a 460 was in 97, only available in F-250 and 350 models that kept the old body styletruckguy wrote:I think they stop making the 460 in the early 90s. Correct me if I am wrong. I removable pipe is funny, that would be my guess.
