stepside prerunner's look flippin sweet, they look more vintage to me.RedneckTexan wrote:Cool! I just might be seeing you over there, I'm now considering turnin my 68 stepside into a pre-runner!1971ford wrote:1969f100RedneckTexan wrote: What's your username there?

i have something like a hundred pictures of bumpside prerunners. let me know if you need some more pictures, here are just a couple of the flare-sides from my massive collection. i scan all the forums for pictures and have a few guys sending me pics when they see them pop up
motivation for a well designed cage. i have a few more pics of the over all truck, it is completely wasted. happened 100 feet before the finish line and it still got through it

update :wooho:
wow, half way down the second page of builds. i work too slow
sooo. finally got the engine/tranny in. and there has been a slight change in plans. we originally intended to swap in headers down the road of the build, but the stock manifolds were cracked, ugly, and we have to redo the exhaust anyways to fit the new engine. sooo im ordering headers right now! woo!
-got motor mounts/gusset all welded together
-pulled old tranny, installed rebulit tranny
-installed engine basically, then marked mount holes and pulled, then re-installed engine
-installed driveshaft, cut off old driveshaft two-peice bracket
-bought a plastic carb spacer
-went to tognotti's and drooled on stuff. the look on the guys face when we asked for headers for a 429 for a 71 f250 (i know a 429 didnt come in f-series for that time period but still..) was kinda funny. eyes grew huge
-removed old exhaust manifolds
-installed drain plug in tranny pan
-new oil filter/gas filter, new fluids, changed torque convert fluid too
-other stuff i forgot.
few bummers.. one of the P/S pump bracket bolt holes in the block is stripped and i cant even start the engine until we get headers (cant wait to hear the open headers ).
rebuilt tranny in
motor mounts
mount in the way of driveshaft, dad giving it the sawzall
my huge open-air shop
im going to start looking for a spare driveshaft at junkyards
byebye old poopy exhaust!
looks so purty in there. i will rattle can the engine compartment black too. since everyone knows that with a clean freshly painted engine compartment gives bette areodynamics
unfortunately there comes a time when you have to clean up tools.
soo soon we will have headers on and ill bend up some pipes at work, and dad is buying mufflers. cant wait to drive this thing!
