The 68 after a year of body work (on the road) pics

Post by mnagatani »

Ok, its been roughly a year since I posted but I check this site every week. I've been doing body work on this thing for about a year now and I finally got it painted. I'm not sure how long it will take to put her back together, but its the next stage for sure!

I would love to be able to do that kind of body work... just not that talented. What (if anything) will you do with the inner fenders?

I'm going to use the stock inner fender panels. They got painted the same color as the outside.

I wish there was magic to this stuff. Just blood, sweat, tears, and some cursing will do the trick. All kidding aside, this project has been ongoing for the last two to three years. I have put all of my spare time to get this project to where its at and we still have a ways to go. My wife and kids say, "When are we going to drive it?" I ask myself the same question! Thanks for the support

I see 2 different pics with red in them. WHAT A TEASE..... looks great Mike I love the color. Although I've never been a big fan of everything the same color, ie the frame and inner fenders and what not . I'm seeing it thur different glasses now.
I can hardly wait to see more progress.

Nice job!!!

I was just noticing that you filled in the cowl vent! Are there any downsides to doin this? Also when you weld up the seems are you stitch welding or full seam???

That thing is bad!

I welded the seams via stich weld technique. It took a long time to do that project. Much like everything on this truck. Regarding the vents being filled, its a visual comprompise I made to have clean look. Im curious myself to know how much fresh air actually comes through those vents. Any thoughts about it are welcome.
