The floor looks damn good. Looks like a great truck to restore.

I used my engine hoist. It wasnt to bad just would have been easier with a third person.

Just got back from the junk yard today. Picked up a fairly new 2.5" lift kit all complete for 20 bucks. Wasnt going to lift it but I couldnt pass up such a great deal. It came off a 72 bump.

Well I finally got the engine, trans/tcase out today. The good news is it is actually a rebuilt 390 engine like the PO said it was. The little things they put on the freeze plugs after a rebuild are still there. Next step is to roll out the frame and power wash it. Then finish tearing the frame apart and get it ready for paint. Here are some pics of todays progress. Also a picture of How the Power steering box is mounted.

even thou its a lot of work we all know your having fun with it. i often tell all my freind when we're talking about my truck or whatever projects they have going, that working on them is the most enjoyable part. i do enjoy looking at what you have acomplished when you put something back together, but there is nothing like the hands on experience during the process! ENJOY IT!

Well I made the trip today picked up the new bed. Man is it in great shape. There is only minor surface rust on the bed floor. The bump seam is 100% rust free. Also bondo free. I was dreading fixing the old bed, but now problem solved. Just needs some sanding and paint. Here are some pics. more to come once I get the bed off the trailer.

It actually found me and I was glad to give it a new home. Told the Guy I bought it from about the site. He has three Bumps. Now its time to order some POR15 and keep the rust away.

More pics from the underside. Looks like somone sprayed some undercoat in the fender area. Wonder if this is what kept the rust at bay.
