cool, question on front alignment as far as centering the axles, is the little shackle mount with the hole in it designed to center exactly on the the little nob deal on the springs or is there room for error?

i ask as here in a month or so i'll be changing the worn out u bolts and just want to get it right.

is there a trick to getting it centered? does this apply to both axles on a 4x4?

The locating pin (spring pack bolt) fits the hole in the top of the spring perch on the axle. Not really any room for adjustment, it generally is what it is.

This last week I worked on the power steering mount. Thought about many different ways to skin this cat, but decided that I didn't want bolts sticking through the frame.... so here's the pics. Somehow I had taken more pics during fabrication of all this, but they didn't write to my card... Hmmmmm.

Needing a little insight....

Looking on line for brake rotors and it seems that I can find rotors for the 1979 model year, but very little comes up for the 1978 model year So whats the difference and how would I determine exactly what year axle I have? Or does it matter?

Also I noticed that the calipers on the D60 appear to be the same as that D44 HD that I took off the truck.... Hmmmmm.

Finally feel like I'm getting somewhere this week.....

Still waiting on all the rebuild parts for the axle... new kingpins, spindles, bearings, u-joints and seals.

I just sold my old axles as a pair, so time to get that old D60 out of the truck and prepair the D80 to go under. I will be changing the rear springs to 3" wide later down the road....
