same as me i plan or por'ing the entire undercarriage and maybe use eastwoods product on the sunny sides and redoing all the rubber bushings with urethane ones.

Thanks for the detailed post on how you removed your bushings. I'm planning on doing that as soon as my truck fund builds up a little. Everything is looking good.

Nice man!! I used por15 on my 68 frame, various parts, and the underside, floor pans, back of the cab and love it. You are right about getting it on your skin.

Yeah, no kidding. Five inches of rain on Saturday and misting rain today kinda squashed any frame painting for the weekend.

Alright, back at it this week. I've been on a motorcycle trip since my last update. Getting prepared for that took a little while, but was well worth it.

Back to the truck this week. My plan is to get the rear of the frame and suspension finshed up with POR-15. I was gonna try to work around the brake lines, but think I will replace them. My father bought a double flaring tool, so I have no excuse.

Next up after the frame will be the bed. I have got to get it squared away. It's been leaning up against the side of the barn for a few months now . Time has really gotten away from me on this project.

I don't know what to do with the engine and tranny now. I was gonna use the income tax refund and govt rebate check to do a complete rebuild, but the wife put the brakes on that with the desire for new windows for the house. Now I have no clue what to do with a worn out 390 and a C-6 that won't shift right away.

I think I may go buy a good manual and kit and try the tranny rebuild myself. Somebody on here did it and claims it wasn't as bad as they thought.

Hey man i've built the c-6's before learned the hard way whats right and wrong. As far as automatics go they are gravy anything i can do to help you let me know i'll get the links to my pics as i built the thing...

After 4 days at a wedding in upper New York (Ogdensburg), a little progress yesterday...

I got all the trim off the bed. I also got the built-in toolbox off. Those screws were a bit stubborn. I was able to twist a large screwdriver with a crescent wrench to get two of them out, but had to grind off the one closest to the front.

Plan to get it over to my father's house so he can help me with the patch panels and welding.

Oh yeah, those of you that live in the north are truly blessed with cool summers. Your winters suck, but your weather is sure nice this time of year.
