You're welcome!

The spring width is the same for all 79 and older trucks. 1980-97 are all the same, even as 1980-86 didn't use a solid axle.

EDIT: 80-85 didn't have a solid axle, 86 the 60 front came back.

Detroit Lockers... NOT

Post by HRDROKN »

Well, I just discovered this weekend that the axles that came with the truck did not have Detroit Lockers as they where advertised. So this really sucks as I was planning on selling the axles to offset the cost of upgrading. Now what?

I'll take powerlocks over detroits any day!

I say you scored for a truck you'll drive on the street.

Detroits do seam to have a better resale than powerlocks, but the powerlocks are a real good unit.

I know of a guy who has a 3.54 D60 high pinion front axle in a '78 F250 4x4 - but he wants $1300 for it. It is in Wisconsin, near Milwaukee.

Ya, it seems that they are a bit more plentiful everywhere but California. Other than that $1300 is about right!

They're around. Worse case buy one from the east coast and ship it for a few hundred.
