so i was thinking about my gas pedal while driving, when i got home i decided to see if i could tighted up the linkage somehow, to get better throttle response.. BUT i soon found out, that the hinge type of piece that the throttle bolts to the firewall with, broke..

i hope you can understand that, but has anyone experienced this as well??
i was hoping i could weld it up, but i found out the piece is aluminum..

a trip to the wrecking yard should fix that.

i've fixed one with jb weld.

Yup i to have seen this I think it only happens when you slam the hell out of the pedal. wonder if some one could fab a steel one or would slamming the pedal then cuase it to break or bend the firewall?

I picked up a lever at the pick-n-pull this weekend for about $4, plus their enviro charge of $1.79.

Boy was the screw that holds the pedal on ever on there good! I finally drilled the head off and some of the center part of the screw and it finally came out.

Cleaned it, painted it, and installed it. It's nice now that my gas pedal doesn't go 3 inches to the right when I touch it.

Item #70 - V8 gas pedal assembly

Are you converting your 6-cylinder truck to a V8? Here's the correct gas pedal you'll need for the conversion. An I6 pedal extends farther to the passenger-side to reach the offset carburetor and will not work for a V8. If you've already got a V8, you might want one of these for a spare, since the pivot bracket has been know to break over time.
