I'm slowly getting my truck ready to paint the interior. I have to say I'm not looking forward to it. Pulled the radio, heater controls, floor vents. I have a lot of pitting, scratches, stains. Should I get some Eastwood rust encapsolator and prime the whole cab with this? Would a regular quality primer in a spray can be sufficent? I'm wanting to do this myself, but not sure if I can get access to a spray gun/compressor setup.
An article in one of the old truck magazines had them using rattle cans to paint an interior. I wonder about durability with something like that. I'd have to get the cans made up, since "New Lime" is not a color anybody is going to stock. Has anyone low-bucked this with decent results?
I'm really concerned about the door jambs. The exterior has already been painted, so that will make it harder to get good results I think. Any tricks for handling this? Thanks in advance.

re: painting interior
I painted the interior of mine with rattle can paint, when I first got the truck. "white" It came out pretty well. But I taped everything off, and I paint pretty good. I used 2-3 coats, and 4 years later , it still looks decent. Regular primer is fine if there is no rust. I really need to get off my can and start working on painting my truck. I worry the longer I wait, the worse the rust problems will be. I'm having a little rust at the bottoms of my doors, and behind the front tire area down at the bottoms. Not bad, but it's bubbling the paint up. That means it's probably about shot, and may need new metal before I repaint. The rust comes from the inside out.
When I eventually repaint, I'm gonna do everything. Cab outside, interior, the utility bed, and also the camper shell. Probably all the original wimbledon?? white. I'm gonna do it myself, as it would cost a mint to have all that done, but I'm gonna have to buy a compressor. My plan is to use all acrylic like original...No clear coat...My thinking is it would be simplier that way. I used to paint with acrylic quite a bit back on the late 70's, early 80's. So I'm more used to it. I've never painted with clear coat, and I also hear it's kinda dangerous if you snort that newer stuff. MK
