I'm in the process of taking the front end apart in my '77 F-150. Just getting the nuts loose right now. I was wondering though, am I going to need a spring compressor on this?
To me it looks like I could jack it up and let the pressure off the springs and just unbolt them, but I don't want any bad surprises.

re: Do I need a spring compressor?
nope, i've never used one for that. just unbolt it, it should be hanging at the end of it's travel if your truck is on jack stands. if you do think the spring might be under pressure, place a floor jack under it then unbolt it.
just watch your toes.

I've never used a compressor either. And as long as the hold-down bolt/washer that holds the bottom is still connected, that spring ain't goin' anywhere. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

re: Do I need a spring compressor?
Sweet.
After I cool off a bit, I'm gonna jack it up and hopefully drop the whole thing.

re: Do I need a spring compressor?
i have never used one, I just got my dad to push on the radius arm to get the spring out, then really hammer it down to fit my new 4" coils in, ![Laughing lol](./images/smilies/icon_laughing01.gif)
