I cut them out very carefully with a reciprication saw, chisle, drill, and whatever else I could get in there. As far as getting the new ones on I drilled holes in the caps where the spotwelds should be and welded the holes to the bed as I don't have a spot welder.

Nice work. Yes by all means please keep posting updates. :D :pop:

Unlike some forums where a few self proclaimed " experts " lead and the rest follow ( or else) the members here all help and learn from each other.

That is what makes this forum great. :D

That does look nice!
Someday, I hope :pray::pray: to have a nice big garage where I can strip my truck down to the frame and do a complete rest mod job on it.

What type of paint did you use on your exhaust? I've never seen a fully painted exhaust before.

Good eye, I was waiting to be flamed on that. It's Freightliner Chassis Black. I figure it will come off once it gets hot. :dk:

That joker is looking good.

Did you just sand the frame down and then paint ?

Keep posting those updates.

Actually used a 4000 psi pressure washer and that cut 90% of the rust and dirt off then used wire brush and sanding for the remaining bits. Then hoisted the chassis way up and painted the underside then lowered it and painted the top side.

It sure looks good so far!

The paint will probably come off the exauhst when it gets hot, but oh well. I have seen guys use VHT 1500 with good results.
