Shiftlight

Post by derrabls »

Has anybody ever installed a shift light into the dash somewhere? I was thinking where the dash rolls around in the front. Recess a little for a small shift light to be put in there. What do you think? Is this just a pointless idea that would make the dash look crummy? Oh this would be without the dash pad.

Why don't you just install a tach with a pointer....or even a tach with a built-in shift light? ;)

I'd like to have the tach in the dash panel somewhere. Either on a f600 dash or a custom one. The reason for the light is I love lighting up the cab. After looking at CobraF100's dash I would consider putting the light in there.

Well, if you DO go with an F600 panel, you'd probably mount aftermarket gauges in there anyway, so you could flush-mount an aftermarket tach with a built-in shift light. Or if you have your heart seat on an additional shift light, I suppose it might be possible to reroute the wiring to the tach's shift light into a flush-mount verison on the panel.

Thats what I'd like to do. Looks like there is plenty of room on the F600 dash for light. Now the problem is getting the dash. Have you known of anybody having the dash rechromed?
