re: seat upholstery
Looks GOOD, John! But just out of curiosity, why did you choose that color? Are you planning on a similar-colored paint job in the future?

re: seat upholstery
The reason I chose that color, is that I'm not a big fan of sitting on a black seat in the summer.... I've got those colors in most of my rigs here and it's easy to keep clean and yes, I'm planning on a bit different colors in the future.. I love stock, but Ford used too much red for my taste!

re: seat upholstery
For those interested---
I just purchased an "Ranger" upholstery kit from NPD for my 69 F100. It is going to replace the factory BURGUNDY --like on the Ranger Post card--and is black with the black cloth. (I am not keeping the burgundy in a Colipsol Coral truck!!)
Anyway the cloth seems to be made of very durable material so those of you debating on all vinyl or vinyl/cloth combo, this may sway your decision. From the appearance, it looks like a good kit. I will post my install results later. Unfortunately it may be many weeks before I get to it.

re: seat upholstery
Like FORD said, I had an original upholstery kit made by a company in Vancouver, WA. It is the original pattern, but uses a more modern and durable basket weave. They were selling Ford truck kits, but using a different material, but on their website ( www.autoupholsterykits.com ) they said they could make any pattern. If I recall it was around $200. It cam with the hog rings and pliers. That was 3 yrs ago and it still looks new. If you are looking for the pattern for the original basket weave, it's part no. L-4109. I believe that is the no. Ford used, so any upholsterer that deals in vintage stuff should be able to get it. I went with these guys because they had expertise in making truck kits.

I'd love to see a picture of that, if you have one.

re: seat upholstery
I think I still have one in my gallery. If not, I'll dig around and see.
Edit: Yep, pic still there. Nevermind the rest of the interior...it's a work in process
Actually, the seat was in another truck I'm parting out (yellow one in gallery with canopy). The green highboy had THE most hideous upholstery I've ever seen in a truck. Green, orange and grey plaid...YES I SAID PLAID. Looked like something right out of the Brady Bunch station wagon!

Re: re: seat upholstery
I was thinking about that too. I wonder how much that would cost to get a bench redone with leather. This is a rediculous thought on my part since my seats are probably the best looking part on my truck right now. I just love leather seats.discman wrote:Has anyone seen leather upholstered seats?

re: seat upholstery
probably cost quite a bit, but man it would be nice!. Maybe find an old leather couch at a garage sale and use the leather.
