re: 1971 f250 paintjob
yeah some pics! The paint job has been going pretty good but i had to redo the first door because paint got under the blue painters tape . But i have a a pic of what it looks like all finished(the door). I have also put on the white paint and a few layers of blue but sadly, i ran out of spray and have to get more. So, so far i have one door done and three quarters of another door done.
The new paintjob
a little closer up
I will have to sand this rust off before the hood gets painted
The second door (not done yet, i have to buy more spray )
nothing to do with paint but i put the pic on anyways
What it should turn out to look like.

Looking good. An OK paint job is better than NO paint job.
Yours is looking good, can't wait to see it all done!

yeah, it will look better than some primer sprayed in some spots and rust spots for sure!
Little update: i have taken off one of the fenders and i will take off the other one tomorrow. I have also taken off the front bumper and the peice of body just above the front bumper. On monday the hood, both fenders, and the stip of body just above the front bumper should all be almost rust free, painted and back on the truck. (hopefully!). Then i will just have the cab and the bed to do. Lots Of Progress!!!!! I will post pics up when i tomorrow.

Where did you get the paint and how much did it cost. Is it mixed w/ a hardener or just some thinner? How much are you thinning?
thanks

Ok, so it is a lacquer paint. Lacquer won't last long down here (houston). One thing really good about lacquer is that you don't need a pressure suit to spray it. If you are looking for an inexpesive way to make a truck all one color, then lacquer is the way to go. I think it is perfect for a rough and ready daily driver. If you get in a fender bender, you can touch up at the paint any time (no respray window).
