What helps me also is i'm only middle aged but my wife says i drive slower than a 80 yr old. I keep it under 55 if i do go faster than that my mileage drops big time to 9 -10 if i'm lucky. Since when I drive the old truck i have more time than money i'm usually in no hurry to go any were.
When my father had the truck I don't think he ever went faster than 50.

I have to bow out unless I come up with 250 more for fuel. My 250 is 9 with new carb, points eliminator, 12 degrees and a mild cam. I slid sideways under full throttle in 3rd in the rain yesterday. Now I know where my gas is going.
