Well after waiting almost 7 years I finally have started the restoration. Here are some pictures taken before removing the front clip and after.
The engine is currently being rebuilt and will be done the end of this week. Tomorrow morning the body and frame are being transported to have them glass and bead blasted. I will post more pictures after I pickup the engine this weekend.

Eagle auto stripping in kansas city, ks. They are going to strip the inside, outside, and underneath the bed and box, along with sandblast the frame. The will apply a epoxy primer to the bed,cab,hood and fenders. I will por 15 the underneath of the cab, box and frame.

I am having a high performance cam, 4 brl aluminum intake and HEI ignition installed. I am considering headers but am a little afraid of the issues with them. I am also replacing the old granny gear four speed with a small block top loader from a 68 mustang. That in itself is posing problems due to where the shifter comes through the floor. As it is now, it will be right under the front part of the seat. I does not help that I have short legs and have to have the seat forward. I have talked to David Kee with toploader transmission and have a solution by replacing the tail section with one that will allow the shifter to be mounted closer to the front. Another solution would be to put in bucket seats, but have not found any affordable yet. I will also have to have the drive shaft shortened, but that should not be a problem.

If you aren't so much worried about a restoration, as a cool little truck to tool around town and go to shows in, you may want to look at Pontiac Sunfire seats. I know I know....not ford, but comfy seats none the less.
