I have a 72 250 camper special.
In the extreme lower left corner of the dash is a red indicator light in its ownn bezel. It is about 1/2" dia.
Any thoughts??
Also what is the color wire that feeds into the guages that supplys power for the ammeter??

That is your brake pressure differential warning light. If you lose brake pressure in part of the system, the switch that the light is wired to goes on.

From what I understand it also should come on when you start the truck. If it doesn't the bulb or wiring is bad.

Some come on, some don't. Mine only comes on when I have brake issues. I can never remember it coming on during ignition. Although, when I do some work in the near future I am going to check it out. You remove the bulb by pulling or pushing the housing (behind the dash) and then turning. It's spring loaded. It's one of those cleverly designed things I have can never remember.

Mine stays on all the time, but never checked why it did. I know the e-brakes don't work so maybe that is why.
