Yes, that is the one. I'll look too. I know I have it somewhere.alvinator wrote:71 Long Bed, i think i remember the truck your talking about. It had 17's or 18's up front with 20's on the rear but look pretty much stock other than that, if i am thinking of the right one. I have the mag at home, will have to find it.

Well, I looked because I was going to scan some pics from it, but I couldn't find it. My wife likes to "clean up after me" as she says. I call it "throwing my stuff away." Maybe it is in a draw of my tool box at work.

I know how it is to have things cleaned up. I save all the issues of mag that has good articles in it I might need to refer back to at a later date. I picked up my issue of CT last night. Read the article and can't wait to see further progress on the truck.

Marz68 looks like you're on your way leveling a few speedbumps! Cool!
I'm not gonna do anything too crazy Mustang II clip with a rack and 4-bar in the rear, not sure how much of a notch it'll need, but it's going down on coil overs for now, no bags. It'll be driven like a MoFo when it's on the road so my goal is reliability, speed, and handling. It's gotta hold its own in Southern California traffic and stay together on our roads! we'll see how all that goes.

Hey Grant good luck finding a short bed for your truck, those things are very scarce plus I bought the last one from Memory lane in Sun valley LOL.. I think the best thing to do would be to cut a long bed to size.Buckinthebowtie wrote:Marz68 looks like you're on your way leveling a few speedbumps! Cool!

I'm pretty sure dennis carpenter and LMC have them for those who want new sheet metal.marz68 wrote: Hey Grant good luck finding a short bed for your truck, those things are very scarce plus I bought the last one from Memory lane in Sun valley LOL.. No, ther isn't much tin available for styleside beds. Already looked into it. Might wind up cutting down a long bed.

I think it'd be a great oprotunity for the mag to ditch it's stigma of building a ride for sponsors, and advertisers. there are plenty of beds out there with good sheetmetal on them. I have the unfortunate privledge of seeing them get crushed on a weekly basis, as I don't have the money to save them from the salvage yards. but I think if I ever see a short wide bumpside in my usual yards, I'll HAVE to save it!!

This was discussed when I bought the truck and I already have the
go-ahead to do it. I still need a decent bed...

re: Buckin' The Bow-Tie
Hope you find the short-wide bed soon.. California Junk yards I would think would be one of the BEST places to find one.. Cutting one down is more work than a CheXXy, they are all welded together, not bolted, like BrandX
Followed the lead of one of the guys in this thread and went to the website, only to find this

c'mon, man, don't run the fella off. he's doing it right this time around. not only that, but imo, chevies make better hot rod motors for those who are on a tight budget, I mean what other motor can you buy parts for at 7-11!!!! hahaha
