Re: The Black Pearl

So took my valve covers off so my buddy can give them to his body shop dept and have them paint them to match the Air Cleaner. I know it isn't ford blue but its free and a GREAT job so I won't complain. Upon taking the valve covers off I discovered surface rust on the drivers side rockers and push rods. (Hood was off for over a year, and although covered with a tarp, moisture got in and in thru the breather.) Will be taking these off this weekend to clean up. Pulled the water pump and timing cover back off to remove broken bolts. Took the timing chain back off and pulled distributor. New one purchased. Intake pulled off to clean up for painting. More pictures in gallery.

Painted the new timing cover yesterday, Ford Blue. Painted the fan pulleys black too. Bought a power booster and a right caliper. Left one not in stock yet. Hoping soon. Not much else done yesterday due to weather and a family member b/day celebration.

The intermittent wiper had to be the best upgrade I ever made to BC #16, (well other than the OEM seat that kills us older guys backs LOL)! :D

Yeah, I hear that Jeff. What did you use for your seat upgrade? That is next on the list.

I was blessed to have an older brother that had a 79' bench in excellent shape he tossed out when he mounted buckets.
The dent era is practically a direct bolt in, (the only altercation I had to do was to trim the latch/knob that locks the seat and lets it fold forward. It was hitting either the gas tank or the cab).

You'll love...those wipers! I drove my truck for over 6 years reaching down turning the wiper switch on and off prior to that LOL!

Timing chain and gear reinstalled with new timing cover painted Ford Blue, water pump reinstalled, (painted Ford Blue), window washer intermittent module installed, passenger side HALOGEN/HALO headlight installed, new tail light lenses with gaskets installed. New IC regulator installed, but tore one of the snaps off the old circuit board so new one ordered, as well as dash bezels. Need to upload the pictures I took. Ordered a new washer pump for the new reservoir before I remembered we stock Trico pumps which would have been 30 cheaper.
