Right rear bearing

Post by 70xlt »

I’m having slight friction/grinding sound on the right rear wheel area. there is no smell or leakage on wheel. Would this be the wheel bearing ? There is oil in rear end, etc. also can I pull the axle out without removing the hogs head. Any advice be greatly appreciated.

F100, did frame off so rear end sat for 1.5 yrs. got 800 miles on rebuilt 302 engine, auto. Purchased and then did rebuild so I never did much distance or speed on truck until now. Today since rear end cooled, right tire still hard to spin by hand and can hear in rear end turning noise, left side turns freely with little noise.

Thanks

Pull the hub and check the brake assembly.
