75 steering column in a 68

Post by dtcohen »

Hi all,

I am looking for a 3spd column shift, power steering, steering column. I found one out of a 75 truck, but I am not sure if there is a lot of difference between the bumpside and dent side columns. Would a dent side column work in my truck? I would like to keep my 68 style steering wheel.

My truck currently has power steering, but it has an automatic transmission. I am planning on converting to a 3spd overdrive transmission.

It will work however, you will have to modify the wiring. This article is primarily about tilt but does highlight the differences between the bump side and dent side columns. http://www.fordification.com/tech/tilt.htm
