I have a 1970 F100 and I want to install the largest tires possible. I plan to drop the truck 3" in the front using DJM beams, and 4" in the back using a hanger kit. After doing some reading, it looks like the largest tire for the back would be a 285/50/17. Does this sound right?
I am also considering widening the rear wheel wells about 3". I have a donor truck and I am thinking of cutting the inside 3" from the wheel wells and adding those sections to the existing wells. Has anyone done this? With this setup, it seems I would be able to add about 3" of tire width giving me a 345/45/17?
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Tire Clearance
I know Bobby Ford has widened his rear tubs but I don't know where to find the thread.
