door panels

Post by blue68 »

Is a 1968 Ranger supposed to have metal painted door panels with the padded arm rest, or was there a insert that went over the metal? *This is the interior without woodgrian accents.

Thanks

The Ranger was the top-of-the-line trim level that year, so it wouldn't have just had the basic steel panels. However, since the Ranger panel covers were plastic and weren't the sturdiest, when they got broken most people just removed them to expose the pretty freshly-painted steel panel underneath and would just use that instead. Of course they also had the padded armrests.
