"My Kinda Party" by Brantley Gilbert/Jason Aldean

Post by MaxKlinger »

I'm sure that any of you that follow new Country music have heard Jason Aldean's new single, "My Kinda Party". It was originally written and recorded by Brantley Gilbert. It's a pretty good song. Both songs start with "worked all week, cleaned up clean cut and clean shaved, I got the cover off the '68, fired it up and let them horses sing". In Aldean's version he sings "you can find me on the back of a jacked-up tailgate", but Gilbert's original words were "you can find me on the back of a Ford truck tailgate". Seeing as the character in the song has a '68, and he'll be sitting on a Ford Truck tailgate, he must be driving a Bumpside!

Like the beat to Jason Aldeans much better, (maybe cause that's what the radio plays all the time here). But yeah Brantley Gilberts lyrics are right on the money!
Hard to believe this is the same guy:

I have listened to a bunch of Brantley Gilbert's songs online and I have to say I really like him. His songs have a "plain and simple" spin to them and that is nice to see in todays music.

I agree, "Kick It In The Sticks" is a killer song and video.

Not to take anything away from Jason Aldean, because I really like his stuff also.
