powder coating wheels

Post by Merlin68F100 »

My custom wheels have seen better days, I would like to get them powder coated ( I think 8) ). The EPA has made re-chroming a past time of the idle rich.
Has anyone powder coated a wheel before? Any idea what it might cost? Will it stand up to daily driving?

Probably around 25-50 each depending on what color, and what kind of clean up they need. (If they are Chrome that's going to have to be removed.)

These guys will take good care of you:

(I haven't had my wheels done yet, but they did a lot of my engine stuff and did a great job.)

I think some new cars wheels are powder coated from factory. I may be wrong about that, but paint with clear coat over it holds up, so powder coat should hold up fine.

I've seen a set on a bug that are powered coated and etched . Actually factory karman Ghia spokes , powder coated spokes black and had the outer bead edges scrolled like the chrome on the 60 series Impala "SS"
