Well, next on the list is to find a donor truck for the power steering, power disc brakes, and tranny and transfer case. Somewhere in the 76-79 year range. Wish me luck!

Just an update, since it's been a while. Picked up the new front springs, lift blocks (both for 2" lift) and new suspension bushings. Waiting for the last of the snow to melt to go pick up the box I bought last November. I think I have a line on a 79 that I can rob the steering and brakes from also.

Well, figure I'd better get to updating this. A lot has happened over the last few months. This is the donor truck I picked up last fall for it's cab. The rest of the truck is toast, but the cab is in great shape.

Got the frame and all the brackets sandblasted. Ended up making a booth so I could use my pot blaster indoors. Lost too much media trying to blast outside.

I did find a 79 4x4 to scavenge parts out of. Took the front axle with the disc brakes, power brake booster, power steering pump and box, and, I cut the fuel door section out of the box, to graft into my box. I'm planning on removing the in cab tank, for a frame tank.

so you can use a front axle from a 1976-79 on a 1967 4X4 then, How did that After Blast work for you?

Yeah, the axles are basically the same. The steering gear is different, but isn't a problem. As far as I can tell, the after blast worked well. Definitively prevented flash rust. But, with POR-15, they say a little rust is a good thing. But, I like the zinc oxide coating it puts on.

Thanks I have a 1967 F-100 4X4 that im doing bed and cab are on a trailer Frame is in the drive way. I bought some frame paine and underbed coatings from Eastwood and KBS Coating.Looking too try them soon after I do a fit of engin and trans on frame because it did have a 4 Spd putting in a C6 in there. Plus have too put some washers in where the cab and core support mounts too the frame.Do all the welding then paint it.
So it looks like im going to be looking for a 73-79 front axle with diskbrakes now.

Makes sure you get one that is in decent shape. The one I bought was pretty rough, I don't think the ball joints have ever been changed, and I'm having a nightmare of a time getting them out. I may put the original front axle back in it for now, just to get a rolling chassis, then put the other in later, when I get it apart and rebuilt.

Leaf springs are back from powder coating. I'm going to remove the clamps, coat them, and put some rubber strips in them. Also got the u -joints replaced in the front axles. It was a bass-tuurd getting the old ones out, had to dig out the blue wrench to heat them up!

Everything has now been coated with POR-15. I'll be shooting everything with Eastwood's chassis black later this week. I had to come up with a good way to shoot the axles, so I made some supports out of 2x4's, to hold them up vertically. Should work pretty good.
