I cant getit to work either. all it does is select portions of the paint and not the whole truck color. i ended up having to do it with the free hand tool and by only doing certain pieces at a time and changing them. looks pretty crappy

1971ford wrote:with GIMP, can you change a white colored truck to a black? I cant do it with photoshop :? i can change a color to a color but not a shade to anything.

you can use the lasso tool to select your area and play with the image adjust settings in photoshop. Look at the turquoise and red trucks I posted in the paint and body forum...those were black and white images that I started with.

Ninjah....do you have any other pictures of your truck? Is it possible for you to take a new picture? The problem with editing this photo has to do with the angle the photo is shot, and the large covered mass in the lower right of the frame of the picture. While it can be done, it doesnt look a whole lot different than it does in the current picture, because of the angle of the shot. ( I tried with my Photoshop Pro). If you could get a picture with more of a direct line of sight from the level of the radiator, or even a profile shot, it would be much easier and look much better. Just trying to help.

This should work a little better although it does look a little fish eyed....like a wide angle lens. Lets see what we can do with it. You want different wheels or anything?

could you put wheels like the ones on the back in the front, and have them both black. And if you don't mind, could you make it have whitewalls.
