First part removed - project started

Post by bm52 »

We removed the carburetor from our '69 4x4 and rebuilt it this week. After we clean out the gas tank tomorrow, we plan to put the carb on, replace a few other things on the engine, and see if she will run. This is the first step in our project, to get the truck running well. Next up - the brakes.

That's a good choice of priorities. Can't test the brakes if the truck doesn't move! :D

Good luck!

I'm glad you are getting started. When it cranks up it is alot of fun and gives you the encouragement to keep going.

I agree, my son really wants to hear it run and drive it around some. Unfortunately after spending the weekend working with it we weren't able to get it started. I don't think it is getting spark, hopefully replacing distributor parts will fix that problem.
