Highboy Xfer case Questions

All,

My Xfer case whines like my ex-girlfriend...

If the hubs are locked, in 2WD or 4WD, it is anoying as hell (also like my ex-GF).

Anyway, what was the last year for a D24? What is the last year of the divorced Xfer case? What is involved in going to the new style (205?) vs the old D24?

Eric, The 24 was used up to 72. The 205 was from 73-77.5.

To go to the 205 you just bolt it in. You may need to get adapter U-joints for your drivelines, The 205's seam to have larger joints than the 24's had, but they used different sizes through the years. You'll also need to switch the end of your speedo cable out to the push in style instead of the screw on type.

I have mine set up as 390/t18/205 all easy bolt in new front drive shaft due to some clearence issues

Mated and divorced are completely different. He has a divorced case.
