jacobs ignition system

Post by theskytoucher »

Ok today i got my new jacobs system from jegs. I followed all the instructions to hook it up to a magnetic pickup distributer because i have the pertronix ignitor in my truck. After i got everything hook up i went to start the truck and nothing. I made sure i had power a good ground and that i had continuity through all my connection. My problem is this i have power from the key going into the box but no power coming out to go to the coil or the pertronix system. Does any one know were my problem might lie.
Thanks

Does the box need its own 12v power source? The MSD 6 I have has a seperate power source from the battery.

I don't know anything about the Jacobs, just throwing an idea to ya.

Yes it does require a power source from the battery but that is hooked up.
Thanks for the suggestion though

Ok heres an update on my problem: I cantacted the Jacob's tech service and was told that because i am not getting any power out of the ignition module that it was a bad unit. I also learned that the accel coil i have will not work with this type of system so i need to buy a cd (capasitive discharge) coil.
Thanks
