Amp location?

I know most of us here are not into heavily car audio systems, but...does anyone have a good idea where to put an additional amplifier? It's a '70 F250, yes it has AC, and yes the main cab tank is being used.

I've "let go" of any hope for a subwoofer, but maybe there's a place for an amp that has not occurred to me. Typical amp measures 11-11/16"W x 2-7/16"H x 11-3/16"D.

Thanks for any ideas, and no, the engine compartment will not work.

mine sits on the hump bellow where the a/c goes.

I've put them under the seat before. Either on driver or passenger side. The seat sometimes has to be removed to run all the wires and mount it up properly, but the size of your amp may not permit.

Guys- maybe my seat is lower than yours- there's no way it will fit. Do you hog out the padding or something? Maybe you're using a smaller amp?

IF your not using the dash speaker, maybe in that spot? or somewhere else under the dash. Might need to go with 2 smaller amps?

I don't know. I had a Bronco II with a small amp mounted under the dash. I forget the rating of the amp, & even the brand. It was about 15 years ago. Its been years since I thought of having anything more than a head unit and a pair of speakers. Old age I guess.

How tall is your amp? Would it fit on the flat panel between the rear window and the fuel tank? If it's too tall it'll hit the seat back (assuming you drive with the seat all the way back like most folks).

under the seat. what are you using the speakers on the doors or you have a sub? i wanted to fit subs on the passenger seat and the drivers side but they dont fit .what speakers are you gonna use for bass?

a typical componant set will be plenty for bass for most people taste, a single 8 in the center floor board could be an option to compliment the low lows. and cross over the componants to take control of mids at anything aboe 80 hz. i plan on getting a fuel cell and loading the bed with a set of 12's (4) or a few tens behind the seat. glassed in of course. is it automatic?tree shift? floor shift?

Sure you can. As long and the backsides of the speakers are hanging below the truck. Maybe some waterproof boxes?

There is NO ROOM under the seats- maybe 2" TOPS.

I'll be trying to wedge an amp under there this week...

ima bass head through and through, but when that stage comes, i will go all out, just like any other project im doing on this truck.

You could always remove your seat then find a spot in the floor under the seat. Cut it out then install a couple inch deep recessed box that you'd have to fab up and weld it back in so the top of the amp is flush with the floorboard Just a thought.
