Truck is looking good. hey if you can sometime can you snap a pic of how you did your transmission linkage. For some reason I can't get mine figured out I think I am having a blond moment.

I was never happy with the transmission linkage and it is getting re-done.
The shift pattern is backwards due to the arm coming off the opposite side of the column. So park is really 1st, 1st is park. All the way right is park on the column. Great to deter theifs i suppose haha. I got used to it. All gears worked.
I remember welding a dodge bracket to the inside of the frame that held a part of the linkage.. I'd get a pic for you but its all torn down still.

You couldn't flip the arm over that attaches to the transmission itself? That's what I've always done on hotrods.

On mine, I flipped one of the levers on the bellcrank that runs between the trans and frame rail. I modified the dodge pivot bracket so that end lines up with the ford bellcrank support on the frame end. I also changed the radius of the lever so the Ford steering column throw agrees with the Dodge automatic trans lever throw. Looks stock, works perfectly:

Never thought of doing that way I will try it I tried every other way. The only other thing if this dosent work is to use a shift cable.

Put a couple hours into it today. Inner fenders, fenders, doors, and a few other misc. things working their way on the truck...

Pulled the tarps off and started throwing bolts at it and turning wrenches.
Core support, inner fenders, doors, fenders, and other misc. things are on the truck for good. Body still needs aligning later on. Put the hood on for now as well.
Did a few little things to get the Cummins in a ready-to-run shape and fired it up and let it run for a bit.

The truck is looking good and it sounds good on the video. The great thing about getting those large items back on the truck is that all of the suddenly you have more room in the garage or around the house to get around! Keep us posted of the progress of both trucks!

That's honestly half the reason i put the body panels all back on! hahaha
They were all in the garage (minus the hood) and i kept having to move them all over and scratched a fender so figured they were safer on the truck... and may as well put some hours in the truck anyways!

Now that I have successfully raced and majorly discombobulated the race truck and shoved it in the sideyard in the weeds, it's time to actually get the highboy back on the road. Serious this time!




The highboy needs A LOT of money still and i'm still in debt from the race so it will be a while till i can move forward much in getting it driving again but for now... i shall do inexpensive things.

Tore the dana 44 ends apart last night, went through it all and got the axle all wrapped up ready to go, minus calipers. Suspension and steering is just about ready to rock as well.

Today I made the decision to ditch the factory bumper and gain a TON of corner clearance for the trail. Planned out the new bumper and will be cutting materials tomorrow. may not get it together for a while though, because jet ski's on the lake and floating down the river are both much more fun in 110 degrees.
