I use Rock Auto a lot. I am glad they do not use "stock photos" so I can look at the item listed. That said I found other listings that had the Motorcraft number shown for a bump just like RA. They are just a re-seller and do not have a warehouse full of these parts based on what I have received from them. I found a picture of my 70 Ranchero that has drums on the front. I really don't think Ford changed much regarding their drum brakes from the 60's to 70's. They are pretty much the same. I believe the heavy duty brakes on the F-250 was just a wider shoe. 12" x 2 1/5" to a 12" x 3 wide. The F-100 could be that way also 11" x 1 1/5" or 1 3/4" to 11" x 2" I don't really know for sure my F-250 has discs on the front and I haven't done the brakes rear yet. (After almost 10 years.) My picture isn't pretty because I only take pictures before I do the work - usually.

Practically are brand new. Check out the first 20 pages of my build thread in my signature. Full disassembly, blast and paint of every piece and all new parts. The bottom photo is the before. I had recently done a brake job before I tore it down so the springs are new in that one too.

Re: Rear drum brake removal
I measured the cables today. The short one is 10" long and the long one is 14" inches long. It looks I need one that is 11" long.
I may shorten up the longer one to fit, but that means that I'm combining two kits for each wheel, so I'm spending twice as much as I need to. That's a bit frustrating.

These should be correct. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/agb-h2102/
Your local parts store should also be able to cross reference Raybestos H2102 through their system.

Re: Rear drum brake removal
THIS WAS THE FIX! Problem solved. Advance Auto was able to look up that part reference and find a match. Those cables are indeed 11", and fit perfectly. I've already got the fronts finished and will do the back ones tomorrow night.sargentrs wrote:Your local parts store should also be able to cross reference Raybestos H2102 through their system.
So, I used all of the parts except the cable from the kit, and replaced the cable with this part # above, and it all fits together now.
Thanks sargentrs!!

Glad you got it sorted, sucks that you had to buy more parts to make the kit fit right.

Brakes are fun. #1 priority for all my vehicles.
And then dont wear them out by braking hard all the time!

Re: Rear drum brake removal
Glad it worked out. Even with the extra down time due to parts being sold as correct when they are not. I for one really appreciate you posting how you were able to get it sorted out. I don't post a lot because usually my problems have happened to someone else and I can work out my solutions if I search long enough. Tidbits like the length of the cables are really nice to come across.
Hopefully the PO won't have left you with too many other surprises.
