Screw the lugnuts on flush with the top of the studs before you go pounding on them. Don't want to damage your starting threads. Don't ask me how I learned that.

I did not think about that! I am glad you said something because I would be the one to destroy a stud. I am going to pick up a brass hammer and pins today. Would it be a bad idea to move the truck around with the bad brake drums? I do not plan on driving on the street! If you mean from one spot in the parking lot to another, you'll be fine. If you're talking about cutting donuts in the Walmart parking lot...weeeellllll....no so much.
