Hello,
Does anyone know if a 1969 F250 or a truck with drum brakes up front can stop the truck without the rears working. I know this sounds crazy.. I just need to move the truck because my HOA is on me.. about my classic ford sitting in my own parking spot. I will be going down a little slope. I have the driver side brake done.. I don’t have time to do the rear because of the Dana 60.. I plan on taking it real slow.. any advice would be great!

Hi,
Since the majority of stopping power is provided by the front brakes brakes normally.... I would think you would b ok with what you described that you need to do.

That’s what I was thinking! I just need to move it one more time. I’m about to move anyway... I hate Living under a HOA. It’s in my complex.. so I can take it as slow as I need to, Little to no traffic. Thank you!Lee wrote:Hi,

Yep, it'll work, but don't be like me and try it for long!
My '71 F-500, 9900lbs of her, was giving me brake problems last year. The RR was locked up, the others seemed to work. Bucky (she's a bucket truck) is too big for me to work on (lift!) so I found a shop.
The RR brake was leaking from both upper and lower cylinders.
The LR was not working at all.
The RF was working on one of the two cylinders.
The LF was completely out of adjustment and not making contact with the drum.
The mechanic replaced all eight wheel cylinders and shoes, turned the drums and put in new seals. $1400 later, she stops on a quarter....not a dime.
