I-beam pivot bushing installation
Should the I beam pivot bushing be pressed in all the way until the shoulder on the bushing touches the ibeam? I just pulled my I beams out to install new king pins and noticed that the shoulder on the bushing was about 1/2 inch from being seated against the beam.

Re: I-beam pivot bushing installation
When I replaced my bushings with polygraphite ones, the instructions said to leave the original metal sleeves in place. Mine weren't seated all the way either although they were only sticking up about 1/8"+. I left them that way.

Re: I-beam pivot bushing installation
The outer shell either has a step or is wedged to prevent pushing the shell in too far.
If the bushing as a whole is centered in the I beam I would leave it alone.
