Has anyone tried Outcast Autoworks crown vic swap motor mounts?

I know one of the issues with the Coyote motors is getting the positioned correctly so I have see several "solutions" to this. Hackster's was probably the best but I know others have done the CV swap with all kinds of motors in the F100's so I was hoping someone had some experience with using a set of Outcast's motor mounts and could comment on quality etc.

I just purchased these and got them installed. High quality and fit great. Only issue i havent worked on yet that i see right now is the crossmember support for tranny is going to have to come up and inch or so....too much drop.

Thanks for the reply. They looked really nice and at that price I'm not really wanting to try and fab a set. I’m going to use the 6R80 trans so I will have to build a crossmember so that is not a deal breaker by any means.

I can't comment on the Coyote mounts, but I can share my experience with FE mounts from Outcast.

The quality of fabrication is excellent. Cuts, weld and finish is as good as the photos.

Engineering could be better. My mounts did not have the proper angle of the motor accounted for. They assume the motor sits in the bay level. It does not. To get the proper angle, the mounts are compressing the rear of the isolators and barely touching in front. In addition, the paint is flaking off where the mounts had to flex or bend.

So I just talked to one of the guys at Outcast and their "motor mounts" for the Coyote swap are not motor mounts at all. They are purely to relocate the motor to the correct location in these trucks as you still have to use factory 2003+ Crown Vic motor mounts. This answered my question so I am grabbing a set today.

Also, mentioned the big block issue that WhitsEnd experienced and he said he was going to look at joining the forum and/or getting ahold of him somehow to address the issue. Would rather see them joint the forum and explain it to all of us but as long as WhitsEnd gets a solution that is what is important.

Hello, bare with me as the forum layout is new to me and I hope I am replying in correct format. Kyle with Outcast Autoworks here to hopefully help/address any possible questions/issues with our products also in particular to WhitsEnd issue of pinion angle/motor set. If anyone ever has an issue or questions please give me a call @ 484-363-9535. My goal is to provide everyone with correct fitment of parts even if it requires a custom design or set. WhitsEnd, Please give me a call at your earliest convenience, I would surely like to address this issue for you! In most street use applications, a recommended 2*-3* pinion angle should not affect the motor mount angle as drastic as you are describing. The Crown Vic suspension although very similar with cross member clearances as factory, does sometimes require minor changes in motor/trans height which is determined on each individual driveline set. In most cases, engine mounts should not be angled to accommodate pinion angles. It sounds like a shorter set of mounts would fix such an issue. My goal is to get the engine and trans as close to factory placement as possible after the crown vic swap. When changes need to be made to our original design to meet each customers needs its easy for use to edit drawings here where needed and ship them out. Thanks Everyone!

Ok my issue was the height of the fe mounts which are tall enough so the use of the stock oil pan is still possible. Now part of my issue i believe is due to the fact i have dropped the rear of my truck at least 6". Probably lower than the front but not sure about that yet. Anyway using the mounts as is, i would have to raise the tranny tail up 4" to achieve which there is no room under the cab. I had the mounts modified so the rear sump pan i installed leaves the pan 1/2" above the cv k- member....which drops the engine 2", i raised the tranny tail 2" and voila!.... it may be beneficial if Kyle offers a set of fe mounts for use with a rear sump pan?

As mentioned earlier, I can make all mounts at any height for whatever differences in application. The fe is a tricky one because there is a ton of different setups guys are running. Because there was so many fe’s in these trucks they are being used in many different scenarios.

Just wanted to update anyone that was curious about going the modular motor route and wanted something better than stock motor mounts. Outcast came up with their own design which allows for some front to back movement as well as stock height, 1" taller, 2" taller, or custom height taller.
