302 vs 360 suspension

hi all,

I am looking at a 1970 F100 short wheelbase truck. It currently has a 302 which does not run and might be locked up. If I purchase the truck I would like to swap in a 360. Is there any difference in the suspension between a small block and big block truck?

Other than springs and maybe wider front brakes I don't think so.

As far as I know, the brakes and suspension are the same regardless of engine size.

So the springs might be different? I know the fe engine is going to weigh about 200lb more than the 302. I know that old mustangs had different springs depending on whether the car had a 6cyl or a v8. Thought the trucks might be the same.

A '67 F100 will have 11" x 2" front drum brakes and 11" x 1-3/4" rear drum brakes. The '68-'72 F100s will have 11" x 3" front drums and 11" x 2-1/4" rear drums.
