clutch and brake pedal too high
OK, I've searched the internet and this forum but no joy. When I sit in my truck, my clutch and brake pedal sit very high. Almost to the point where my knee is in my chest. I don't believe this is normal but I haven't seen anyone else with this problem and I don't see where anyone has tampered with it. Is there an adjustment somewhere or do I need to find another donor? Thanks in advance.

Re: clutch and brake pedal too high
Unlike the Dentside trucks, there's only one type of brake (and clutch) pedal used in the Bumpside F100s through F350s.

That's pretty much where they sit. I've always had my seat all the way back and have always had to pick my feet up off the floor to press the clutch and brake pedal. No keeping your heel on the floor and swinging your foot from the gas to the brake in a bump side. That's so you have the full strength of your leg to mash on the manual drum brakes.

Re: clutch and brake pedal too high
The pedals do sit pretty high in mine. I concentrated more on making sure the clutch adjustment was right first......then adjusting the brake pedal to match. If the clutch is working right it probably doesnt need anything except making them match. A lot of the ones I have seen have the misaligned pedals.

Before you decide on this might want to read this article in the tech section (Thanks, Keith!)Pointman wrote:... or find an later model to put in. Again, Thanks!

Re: clutch and brake pedal too high
I said there was only one brake and one clutch pedal used in the Bumpsides. That's not entirely true. '67 clutch and brake pedals are the same for '67 F100, F250 and F350 trucks. In '68 ('68-'72) the clutch and brake pedals were changed from '67 but, the '68-'72 F100, F250 and F350 clutch and brake pedals are all the same within that range of year models.
The Dentside trucks had something on the order of 22 different engineering numbers stamped on the brake pedals. Some Dentside pedals could possibly be modified to work in a Bumpside but some Dentside pedals might not work. The biggest changes to the Dentside pedals/pedal hanger came in '78/'79.
The pedal hanger from a Dentside won't work in a Bumpside ....well, at least not without some serious modifications to it.
