Coil Springs

Hello, I have an 1973 F100. I was changing out the coil springs, and I noticed the stock coil springs had what appears to be two stabilizer braces in the spring. My new coil springs do not have this. I am wondering if this is required.
The replacement coil springs I have are Precision Coil Springs.
