Craigerf100 wrote:Hey thanks :) I got them on eBay. I just looked up seatbelts for our trucks starting with 1967. Cost me $50 each! I've only ever seen them for a $100 a piece. So I had to buy them before it it was too late. They are universal and not year specific. so if u want some info to buy the right ones, hit me up.
Only 2 things so far that would register as 'gotchia'. The bolts that are on the top piece that screws into the holes in your cab; are the wrong size. And the kits don't come with the 'L' brackets to mount to the floor. Both easy fixes. They do offer the mounting brackets for $15 but I'm going to try and find some heavy dudy ones at a hardware store.
Thanks for the info!

ha, gloss black is not the color of choice for people that hate bodywork!

that truck you posted is sweet, i've been trying to find pictures of black grilles to decide whether to do black grill/bumpers on my off-white... pretty sure i'm going for it.

looking awesome!

Appoligies in advance for my rambling:

Okay so I need some advice. When all said and done i will be sandings, priming and painting my front clip of my truck. So 2 fenders a hood a grille and possibly a bumper, not to mention the valances. And they will be painting black. Like my truck is right now (I might change my mind of the grilles color).
My predicament is that, later on I will be doing all of the Above to the doors and bed. But not for sometime, as this is a budget build (Some minor rust issues).
So with the Front clip, part of me wants to sand prime and then stop until I can paint the whole truck. Then a part of me wants to try and paint the front clip black, color sand then buff. But If the 2 blacks don't match it will bug me. Since I don't know what type of black paint is on it now. And down the road I will be doing the same to the rest if the truck. One section at a time.
So to me logic dictates I leave it un painted.
If you all agree, then what can I spay over the primer to seal it till later? (As I will be driving it quite a bit) That would be easily sand-able for when I finaly get to paint the whole truck?

I had the same concerns with mine. I was afraid that if I painted my cab completely and then, a year later, painted my bed, that I wouldn't have a good match. I talked it over with my paint supplier, http://www.southernpolyurethanes.com/, and they recommended I coat it with this http://www.southernpolyurethanes.com/te ... 202013.pdf. After body work and primer, I shot 2 coats of white and it cured to a rock hard finish. She sat like that over the late fall and winter, about 5 months, with no rust/primer bleed through at all, and looked just like I first sprayed it. Last spring, I sanded with 400g and shot my top coat. It sanded very easily and looked great. Actually, the white sealer looked so good, it was tempting to change my color plan and leave it white.

Did u do the 4:1:1, or 4:1 and use it as a primer?

I did the 4:1:1 and it came out with an almost glossy finish.

Well i found this primer clear coat I found at autozone. Dupli color makes it. I just don't know if its easily sandable. Has anyone used it?
