Good eye! lol
I chat with Steve a lot on another forum. After hours of thought put into different possible designs I gave up trying to re-invent the wheel and went with Steve's design as it was the strongest way of building a crossmember (without dropping the front spring perches too low).
Steve's a fabrication mastermind 8)
Steve is a GREAT guy....and he knows his stuff. Another good person to talk to is Ed, Steve's friend. You're doing a great job Ryan. Keep it up.

For the axle I used brush on rustoleum. Rust was no concern at all and the brush on rustoleum is amazing stuff so I didn't bother spending days metal prepping for the por-15. I use brush on rustoleum on all kinds of 4x4 stuff (like all the suspension, axles, etc. on the Rover) and it is very durable and alwasy keeps its shine

My poison oak got strangely worse and had to go back to the doctor. And now I'm on some crazy meds that are supposed to clear up the poison oak very quick but side affects are mood swings, depression, no sleep and some others.
All the parts are sitting there next to the axle just have to put it together. I was so excited for assembly but with the meds I don't want to touch it.

Poison oak got worse and worse... long story short poison oak plus gnarly pills to kill off the poison oak makes for no desire to leave the couch.
Finally got back to the truck today though and damn did it feel good!

Should have been rolling today but the bearings I got from the auto parts store are not the right bearings. So I went back and got the "right ones". They also are the wrong bearings.

Oh, and my hood that I worked so hard on getting perfectly straight fell over and is now scrap metal.

Ran into problems all day long but after enough parts store runs I got it together.
However It all still needs to come back apart due to one of the axle lock nut's breaking it's little stub off, and the passenger side lower ball joint nut not threading on easy, and breaks still need to go on, and need to pick up another 1 ton TRE for the drag link.
