Yeah, I thought I sold it too. long story, but the guy sent me a $750 deposit. I called it sold accordingly. Then he fell off the face of the planet. Not sure what kind of scam that is but the $750 helped with some parts..

The Land Rover? Yes. Been trying to, but no one has money and i'm not going to sell it for stupid cheap.

Finished body work on the truck and pulled everything from the parts truck today. Parts truck is ready for scrap. Feels good to knock both those things out. Now back on track..

Tons of progress today. Pulled the 351, transmission, and transfer case out of the parts truck and got them tucked away. Pulled any good parts, and then loaded it with scrap metal. Pulled the highboy's low pinion 44 and installed it in the parts truck so it can roll. Also set aside the HP44 for sandblasting soon. The parts truck is now ready to go on the trailer for the scrapyard along with the highboy's bed and the highboy's original f100 2wd frame.

My autobody buddy also came over to work all day and we got the rest of the body work done.... feels great to be done with that.

Now back on track with transmission work, axle swap, paint, and a few other things.

Someone did lot of work on the 78.

I am surprised you didn't get it running and beat the snot out of it as a trail rig/truggy.

I think it woudl ahve been more fun than the highboy as you wouldn't care about hurting it....

Yeah, someone put lots of time into it for sure. Shortened wheelbase, boxed rear frame all the way to the transfer case with surprisingly well cut plates, in-board springs, crossmember with hitch, proper gussets and cab mounts added to rear frame... had the right drivetrain..

There are many reasons i didn't build it into a crawler though with the highboy's low pinion 44. 1st being it has no paperwork and I will not own something i cant drive on the street. Rear frame being boxed didn't do anything for me... I'm not a fan of boxing on Ford frames as they need to flex to not crack. The welds were also terrible underneath. Great work other than welds though. The inboarded springs I assume was in hopes of getting the stock highboy leaf packs to flex better... i could jump up and down on the rear and the suspension would not give a half inch. Spring mounting was "ghetto" as well. Can't have another project either. It was a no brainer to never try and build that truck.

Bought the parts truck for $640 delivered. Pulled my $600 HP44 for the highboy and have sold and pending sale on $1,060 in parts/scrap. Profit: $420 and my axle.

I love craigslist sometimes...

How'd you scrap the truck with no title?

Didn't cut it up much, figured i'd chance it and take it in. They took it just fine. $150 for it.
Scrap prices are way low, but I expected that.

Making a couple support struts... trying to get these done and out of the way so i can get back to focusing on progress on the truck with a little extra funds from these struts.
With all the parts I sold, scrap, these struts, and two paychecks coming in I should have enough money to "finish" the truck within one month...

Cut out the front crossmember and pulled the leaf springs. Nothing like digging deeper into a project that you're already struggling for time and money to put back together.
