And then lost reverse. :(

Yea but it looks great though even stuck

lol I hate boggers, and I HATE mud... just had to cross this "creek" to get to the play area. I wonder if I would have been able to crawl out if I spun the tires more though. Now that I think about it, I never gave it any real gas so I never really gave the tires a chance to clear out. Regardless, I don't think they're very good in mud lol
Manny wrote:Okay the slot mags do it i am really in love now that is the perfect wheel no doubt. Just one thing. Please mill off the dodge ram thingy on the intake. Or custom fab you up something. You have it in you to make a highboy powered by cummins one!!! Also how well do you know Ruff stuff Ryan???? Got some stuff from them myself just curious if you know them good??? Truck looks great!!
Thanks

Yeah I'll do something about the dodge writing sometime lol
I know Ruff-stuff fairly well. Dan, the owner, tends to give me quite the deal  Lucky me gets to live 20 minutes from the shop.
I'm actually going to be at the shop tomorrow..

I have a buddy that's very famous in the Cummins world that fabricates air horns, intakes, etc.
And another buddy that also fabricates air horns, intakes, headers, etc.
I'll probably get one from them :D

last week the truck lost reverse, so i pulled the pan and valve body, found the broken reverse servo piston and swapped it out, still had no reverse, had a buddy that is famous in the Cummins world come help and off came the pan/valve body again... got reverse fixed.
Yesterday out in the mountains I get up against a tree on the trail, pointed down hill (8,000 winch or samurai are not going to pull me back up, off the tree), and lose reverse again. Luckily my buddy was able to anchor himself against a big tree and use his 8k winch to pull my truck sideways. We get going again and suddenly no gears work.
Doesn't matter if I'm in 2 low, 2 hi, 4 lo, 4 hi, nothing works.

So he pulls me down the trail to the road and I sit and wait for the AAA tow truck at night. I did find out that I can get very comfy inside that cab!

And then there's story #2 which involves a miracle. I wasn't paying attention and didn't see the end of the rock slab i was on drop off, and drove off the side of it at a TERRIBLE approach angle. The truck stopped real quick, got up on two wheels (drivers side wheels) and "went over". It was so far over that I KNEW 100% that we were going to roll the truck down this rock slab. I was now sitting on the door panel. Then what HAD to have been past the point of no return in the "roll", the weigh shifted back to passenger side and the front right tire touched down again. Rear tire still a ways up in the air until my buddy was able to get to me and hook the winch fairlead to me to keep me from rolling.
I think what stopped the roll was the drivers front shock bottoming just in time to bounce some weigh back to the passenger side.
Scariest 5 seconds of my life.

I think the official term for that is "pucker butt"

Glad you didn't flip her on her lid. I've been in a few situations like that myself. That's why I decided to take it easy in my Cherokee until it was paid off. One of these days I'll have something old and crummy that I can beat the snot out of in the woods with no reservations.

No kidding on the pucker factor. Wheeling that thing can be tough for sure. That is why i am building my 91 bronco outta junk so i can wheel with no reservations as fomoco said....pure bliss.

Not much to upate on other than tarping the truck up becauae it is going to be sitting for a very long time. It kills me seeing it tarped up knowing I wont be able to drive it for a long long time. I was having so much fun driving it everywhere I could! :(
