Re: 1969 F250 4x4 Highboy 12/2 Cummins install complete

No more pics or real info on it but he built it from scrap. It is a HEAVY DUTY bumper to say the least. Must weight almost 500 pounds with the winch.

No idea on MPG's yet... I'm going to wait a little bit until I calculate that. I just finished the swap so my foot is a little heavy to say the least so my mpg's probably arn't so great as of right now hahaha. I also have the pumped turned way down right now to eliminate the smoke as it would just fill the engine compartment with soot and coat my chassis.

I'll ask the question, what kind of radio are you working with that "whip" antena?

haha,
Nothing extreme just running a CB for fun. 95% of the reason behind it is to talk to buddies on the way to trails and on the trail. You wouldn't believe how useful they are then :D
The whip looks so ridiculously longer in the pictures than it does in person, now that i pay attention to that. It looks like that thing is 15 feet tall in the pics!! lol
It's 102" including the spring between mount and whip. The 102 is a 1/4 of 35.9 which is one wave length. Being this length brings SWR's down to basically nothing.

I am making a clip on the headache rack today to clip it down.

Don't sweat it Ryan, I have the same set up on my tool box hooked to a Galaxy 98hp thats been "tweeked" just a little.
The redneck party line phone has come in handy for years, espicaly off roading. Next to a wench, its almost required equipment. 8)

well, today I spent 4 hours driving around town trying to get things done for the beast.

I am now MUCH further back from where I started 4 hours ago. bad day.

Seeing your driveshaft in your mirror isn't a good feeling either. But that's the least of my worries now.

Anyone know where you can get a 1/2x20 3/4" shank lug nut ... with the shank having a diameter of something like 3/4"+

Gorilla has pretty much everything and the chrome lasts more than a week too!

By the looks of your wheels you could probably use longer nuts to get the hex out past the wheel? I like to call and ask them for their dog dick nuts. It might be the official name for them, I dunno, but they always know what I'm talking about.

Make sure you get the right taper on the nuts for the seats in the wheels. There's a few different ones.

Hope the day gets better for ya.

Thanks

Woods is sending over all the lug nuts he has for these wheels so I can atleast get the wheels on with 6 lug nuts per wheel until i locate more lug nuts. I think it will help to have the lug nuts he ran to find more of them as well.
The wheel with the crack in it is getting welded up now..
Got my driveshaft situation sorted out

Wheels should be on Saturday at last..

I couldn't resist a little mock up.

Waiting on the lug nuts

Going wheeling this weekend in the mountains as long as the lug nuts come in tomorrow or Friday. Excited!
