Re: 1969 F250 4x4 Highboy 11/14 cummins in
Thanks guys!
I have made great progress, well on my way to driving it by Sunday for sure (just so happens that is my birthday, what an AMAZING b-day present would that be for myself... a long cruise in the cummins highboy )
Lots of metal melting and such going on, but, I can't find the camera. Had it in the garage taking pictures, moved it where it wouldn't get hit by sparks, and now i forget where that safe place was
HEre's a picture I put on the computer sometime saturday before I misplaced the camera, though.
Driving the truck this weekend would make this a 2 week Cummins swap, from driving the dodge to driving the ford...
Just imagine if i didn't have school and work

Re: 1969 F250 4x4 Highboy 11/21 cummins..
Been working on it non stop!
I am a throttle linkage, little bit of wiring and fuel priming away from driving it to the shop to have a buddy fabricate the exhaust and fix the sloopy/leaking yoke on the transmission. Then I will start wrapping everything up and prepping things so it's completely ready for a long distance snow wheeling trip in a couple weeks.
The truck should be done with this phase of it's life this weekend! Military tires and aluminum slot mags should be on, transfer case strut, t-case shifter setup to work with dodge transmission, and CB isntalled with antenna, and air horns.

Re: 1969 F250 4x4 Highboy 11/21 cummins..
yeah
It's also whistling real bad (more like real good), almost like a turbo with only 6" of downpipe on it.
My photobucket should give me more bandwith to play with on the 2nd, which is when it should be totally drivable so I should have pictures galore. still haven't posted any pictures of the power steering swap or anything...
The aluminum slot mags get here Thursday, picking up the 37" Goodyear's Saturday, picked up all my CB stuff yesterday, picking up an amp and sub later this week - nothing beats a good sound system to play at the campfire when camping, not to mention i may need to crank the tunes to overpower straight piped cummins... if i dare cover it's beautiful sound.
Still haven't decided if i'm going to swap in the beefier set of leaf springs. The front really didn't squat more than it did with the FE in there.
I better get the exhaust done ASAP though

Thanks!
Oh... my... god...
I got the throttle cable and dodge gas pedal on, power steering primed and 35's put on and drove it around the court.
Words just can't describe. That was the most fun I have ever had in a vehicle, well, it's right on par with flying through the desert in the race truck. The BEAST sound of no exhaust, the turbo whistle louder than most gas vehicles, the torque that wants to twist the frame (still missing one shock, had to remove the shock mount to make room for steering shaft)... the power steering...
I will be driving the truck all day and night tomorrow, headed no where
ok, i'll just be headed to buddies to show it off

Yeah I think I'm "content" with the Cummins
About to go finish some things up like get the hood latch on (or might throw the hood pins on instead) then it's time to go reek havoc

Yeah no engine shots?
In the second picture you don't by chance have more pictures or information on the bumper on that other truck do you?
Also you have a mpg on it yet?
Thanks Rob
